There are few absolutes about writing and writers. One of them is "we all start at zero."
While some writers have privilege which gives them a leg up over those without, none of us starts with anything but a blank page and a way to fill it. We have no audience, no back list. No track record of achievement. In many case, not even any training in the art beyond reading what others have written.
