Real Artists Ship β˜•πŸ‘‹

There's an apocryphal story about Steve Jobs using the phrase "Real artists ship" to underscore that artists didn't hold onto their work. They put them out into the world.Β

It's a good reminder. As writers we don't necessarily think "real writers publish" without getting bogged down on the detailed definition of each term before we examine the gestalt. What's real? What's writing? For that matter, what's publishing?Β

This week's prompt: Are writers artists? Do they ship? Or is it enough to toss the completed manuscripts into a trunk?Β

See you in the comments.
