Hey @David & John45, if a subscriber has the status of cancelled on your list, they definitely shouldn't be receiving emails. Is it possible that they unsubscribed at some point in the past, but then since re-subscribed?
I'd recommend reaching out to our team at firstname.lastname@example.org (or via the in-app messenger in your account) with the email addresses of subscribers you're seeing this for, and a description of the discrepancies you're seeing (screenshots help too, if possible).
