Question
automations
Asked a question 3 years ago

I'm not sure if I set up this automation correctly. Essentially what I want to have happen is that the tag will subscribe them to the email sequence and if at any point during the sequence they purchase the product then I want them to enter the buyer sequence, otherwise the original sequence should just continue to the end if no purchase is made.

Hey @Adam Wills64! Based on your description, it sounds like you'd actually want to use an event67 (red node) rather than a condition64 (purple node) for that 3rd step down in the automation. Events will pull subscribers forward as soon as they purchase, whereas a condition would wait until they finish the sales sequence and then check whether they have the 'Bought my thing' tag. So they'd technically get to the right place eventually in yours, but events are much better if you want them to be pulled out of the sales sequence immediately after purchasing.

We actually have a tip video here69 that goes over this exact topic and might help clarify the recommended automation 'flow' for this approach! I hope that helps — let us know if you have any additional questions :)
