 · How to set up a document to download to new subscribers

I'm totally new to creating subscriber lists. Since I have no subscribers yet, I am at the very start.I am using Divi. I tried to use Bloom to get subscribers, but apparently Bloom can't see tags. I'm trying to use the free plan to get started. However, there seems to be a discrepancy between what the free plan is supposed to offer and what the CK support people are telling me. I want to put a simple optin on my blog page. It doesn't need to be fancy--I don't know how to do that anyway. The free plan says that I can get up to 1000 subscribers. However, the support people are telling me that this probably won't work. I have to buy a paid plan to be able to make an option in form in Divi work. All I want to do is create an optin to collect a first name and an email address. I'm not even clear on whether I need a CK form and a Divi form, only the CK optin, or the Divi optin. Would someone please clarify this issue for me? I've been trying to make something work for weeks in my spare time, going back and forth between Elegant Themes support and ConvertKit support. I'm about ready to give up on having a website, since my goal is to gain followers. At this moment, I can't afford a paid plan. What do I have to do? Do I have to buy a paid plan to get subscribers at all? Thanks. I didn't see a place to put a tag and therefore, I'm putting it into my question. This forum seems to work differently than other forums I've seen before, or perhaps I'm missing something. #ConvertKitHelpForum
