I set up ConvertKit with my Wordpress website and tested to make sure I would receive the email once I sign up to subscribe. Unfortunately I did not receive the confirmation email. I did remove myself from the subscribers list to do so, and even tried with a different email. How can I fix this?

Hi @Natural Living Homestead64

there are a number of factors that may be at work, but I will only focus on one of them

you are doing a good thing by testing with your own email addresses -- especially with a few different ones

before giving a more detailed explanation, let me share an important instruction from my own email confirmation page:

It may seem strange in this day of "instant" everything, but sometimes the confirmatin email may get delayed (and sometimes for hours).

after you have subscribed using your own test email, go back into your CK account and check your subscribers -- it is very possible that your email is listed as an "unconfirmed subscriber" and it has a dot by the email address that indicates that it has "bounced"

in that case, just go about you life few hours and then check back into your email -- if the same thing happens for you as did for me, that email will now be fully subscribed

hope this helps

Hey @Natural Living Homestead74! Here are a few things to check:

  • Is that form's sending address an @customdomain address, not @gmail, @yahoo, etc.? That can affect your deliverability — more info here72.
  • Is it possible the email went to your spam or junk folder by accident?
  • Does your account still need to be approved by our team? If so, you'll see this yellow bar across the top:

If that doesn't help explain it, I'd recommend reaching out to our team at help@convertkit.com76 (or via the in-app messenger in your account) with the name of the form (as it is displayed on the forms page68 in your account), the URL on which it is embedded, and the email addresses you tested it with. One of our Product Specialists will be able to help troubleshoot further :)
