If I set up a newsletter sequence that gets started from multiple opt-ins/landing pages and I want all new subscribers to start at the beginning of the sequence, how will I prevent current subscribers who select my new opt-ins from starting over? Do I need to create a tag or exclusion for this-- a duplicate sequence-- or is CK smart enough not to send the same email in a sequence twice?

Yup, CK is smart enough for that - A subscriber will only emails from a sequence once.
