Is there a way to send a broadcast and make sure it excludes all the recipients from another broadcast message that has been sent out. I know I can tag and then exclude those that have opened it but I want to exclude all recipients of the other broadcast.

Hi Shane, I know this is an old question, but I had it too and my googling brought me to this page. Perhaps someone else will find this useful as well.

I finally found out how to do this in CK. Mailchimp had this sort of thing already pre-set, such "send/don't send to those subscribers who were sent the last 3 campaigns". It's some sort of custom sequencing thing I think but CK doesn't have that out of the box. The solution below is not that fancy, but will work for one specific broadcast's list of recipients.

The trick in CK is I saw no intuitive way to tag subscribers of a specific broadcast that was already sent. But it turns out it's actually more intuitive than I thought:

  • First, create a new tag, such as "Was sent xxxx broadcast on Day/time/year".
  • Open the broadcast that has been sent.
  • On the right hand side of the page, click on "Recipients".
  • Click the little box on the top left to select all the subscribers and click the "add all xxx subscribers" if there is more than 50.
  • Click the caret next to "Bulk Actions" and choose "Add Tag"
  • Choose your desired tag and press OK.

Now you can create a new broadcast and choose to include or exclude those specific subscribers tagged from that specific campaign. A lot of steps to go through if you end up needing to do this a lot, but it works!

Hi Shane! In order to do this, you would need to tag the subscribers that you'd like to receive the broadcast. Of course, you could also tag those whom you don't wish to receive the broadcast as well.
