Major newsletters like The Hustle and The Morning Brew do not have a double opt in or confirmation email. Are they using some kind of alternative way to protect their lists? If so, is it possible for us to the same? Seeing unconfirmed subscribers is painful 😅

Hey there -- We are not totally sure how it works with other Email Service Providers, but here in ConvertKit, we use double-opt-ins for the protection of Creators against spam and list-bombers. The best way to avoid unconfirmed subscribers is by letting them know that an incentive email is coming their way after signing up and to always check their inbox and spam folders.

Hi, I have a question about the double opt in necessary for GDPR. I know there are options here to offer everyone double ... opt when it is not necessary for them.

Suggestion for CK: I have my list set to double opt-in, as you suggest, and I get why. The annoying thing is I have 142 ... middle over the double opt-in thing.
