Noob here and a little confused! It seems I can set up an automated email sequence either using rules, visual automation, or in the sequences menu. Which is the correct method? If I set a 1 day delay in the sequence, and a 1 day delay in the visual automation, is that then a 2 day delay? Does the timer for the delay include the confirmation email? Thanks!

Hi there!

All three are accurate, but if you use an Automation, the subscribers will receive the "Completed" status once they finish the sequence. Once subscribers are marked as "Completed" for a sequence, they will not receive any further emails from that sequence. (Sequence reporting explained)11

You cannot use the same email sequence on automation and rule (with the same entry point). For example:
- Visitors will enter the form
- receive the email sequence

If this is already active action on your automation, you should no longer set this up on rule. This is not advisable; the confirmation email (incentive email) will not affect the timer on your automation. The timer will only run once the subscribers are inside the VA.
