After listening to the podcast embedded in the page Alyssa shared, in essence, it's mentioned that we need to ignore open rates (but I assume you already knew that :) ) and focus on getting clicks inside your email, whether it's a button or link. With that being said, the recommendations given were:
- Include Like Button (or heart emoji button) for readers to rate
- Implement "Read More", "I Read This" Buttons
- Gamify The Button Clicking (Implement a system that tracks "Read More", "I Read This" Buttons clicks and relay it back to your audience) and reward subscribers who click these buttons e.g. low-ticket products, a one-on-one call, etc
